Welcome to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Website!
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was founded by K.M.Munshi with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi in 1938 when the country was engrossed in the struggle for freedom. While country’s freedom was the top national priority, serious thinking had started on National Reconstruction and Rejuvenation that was to follow the independence. Under the guidance of enlightened thinkers and visionaries like Shri.C. Rajagopalachari, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr.S. Radhakrishnan, Pandit Nehru, Sardazr Patel and others the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan aimed to revitalize the ancient values and reintegrate them with the changing times.
During the last 75 years, the Bhavan has been steadfastly endeavouring to hold fast to the fundamental values of life and from a humble beginning , it has grown into a national movement, voluntary, ever-growing, apolitical and solely devoted to life, literature and culture. To-day, the Bhavan has come to be recognized as a symbol of the intellectual, educational, cultural, ethical and social values of India.
